I had never snorkeled and Mateo stayed with me the whole time. Spotless gear and endless patience.

Seeing the moai from the water is something else. Small group and perfect explanations in English.

The sea was choppy and we still had a great time. Mateo was upfront about what to expect.

Why does Sernatur certification matter?

Sernatur (Chile's National Tourism Service) keeps the official registry of tourism providers. A registered guide meets the required legal, safety and quality standards and operates formally on the island: you travel more safely and support responsible tourism in Rapa Nui.

Also, to visit the archaeological sites of Rapa Nui National Park you must be accompanied by an authorized local guide or companion.
